The Strait  Area Soccer Club is based in the small town of Port
Hawkesbury on the Strait of Canso which separates Cape Breton
Island from the rest of Nova Scotia and Canada .

The players  range from 4 to 40 , the older ones playing scheduled
games in the  Soccer Cape Breton league and competing for the
right to represent the island in the Provincial Tier 2 Championships .

The club has associated clubs in Whycocomagh , Judique and
Mabou all part of the Strait Area Soccer Club.

UNIROYAL & SEABOARD TIRE ARE HELPING KIDS REACH THEIR GOALS
THE STRAIT AREA SOCCER CLUB to receive free soccer balls & donated funds
Port Hawkesbury May  2008;- Youth players & their parents will be visiting
SEABOARD TIRE this spring as part of a national programme conducted by
Uniroyal & the alliance professionals network .Some members of the Strait Area
Soccer club will receive a certificate for a free soccer ball redeemable at the
store  (while supplies last ). In addition to the free soccer balls  ,Uniroyal &
Seaboard Tire will make a cash donation  to the club.
2008 was the second consecutive year that Uniroyal & its dealers  teamed up to
support youth soccer in Canada .Last year a total of 17,000 balls were given to
kids and nearly $30,000 donated to 140 youth soccer organisations across  
Canada .
Application has been made to Uniroyal for 2009
